CLIENT:
Australian National Maritime Museum

YEAR:
2017

The Australian National Maritime Museum exists as a landmark building and Australia’s prime centre for maritime exhibitions, archaeology and research.

LCI’s building services involvement with the project included a PV modelling and feasibility analysis to ensure an environmentally sustainable solution to offset energy usage associated with the Wharf 7 building. LCI’s recommendation to use Thin Film rooftop photovoltaic arrays, in lieu of standard Flat Panel arrays, resulted in a substantial increase in energy-creation capacity, from 17.2kW to 220kW. This innovative solution afforded ESD benefits whilst avoiding any need for a costly structural upgrade. A win-win result for the Australian National maritime Museum as our client.
