The Cairns Gallery Precinct transformation will connect three existing heritage buildings (Cairns Art Gallery, the Cairns Court House, and the former Mulgrave Shire Office building) and involve the addition of a new purpose-built gallery will create a world-class cultural experience in the heart of Tropical North Queensland.

Commissioned by Cairns Regional Council and designed by Cox Architecture and CA Architects, the project reimagines the contemporary art museum for a tropical climate, blending heritage, sustainability, and modern design into a cohesive cultural precinct.

LCI provided Electrical, Vertical Transportation and ESD engineering services for Stages 4 and 5a, and Mechanical services in collaboration with Hopkinson Consulting Engineers. Our scope included modifications to the existing Cairns Art Gallery, site master planning, and the detailed design of the new gallery.
