New Schools 2020 Program (Bundles 1 & 2)

The New Schools 2020 Program (Bundles 1 & 2) included the design, construction, commissioning and completion / handover of nine new primary schools (P-6) in the eastern, northern and western regions of Victoria. Two schools – Eynesbury and Botanic Ridge – included integrated Early Learning Centres.

LCI was the Engineering Services Consultant responsible for Engineering Services including electrical, security, communications, hydraulic, fire and mechanical design of the schools.

The project:

• Delivered ELCs at two locations – Eynesbury and Botanic Ridge.
• Provided improved access to and greater choice of quality school services in growing communities by delivering new school facilities that support individual learning styles and enhance the delivery of the school curriculum.
• Facilitated community use of school infrastructure, including the co-location of community facilities and services where possible and appropriate.
• Maximised Value for Money for the state by delivering school facilities that are environmentally responsive, functional and reliable for the long term within the project budget.

A key challenge of this project was the development of engineering services designs that responded to the requirements of the BQSH to deliver an appropriate teaching and learning environment whilst managing project costs within the allocated budget.

LCI is providing electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, fire protection, fire engineering, ESD engineering services.
