The ONA Brisbane workplace on Level 28 of Central Plaza, 345 Queen Street was designed as a refined, future-focused environment that unites workplace performance, brand expression, and staff wellbeing in one cohesive space. The vision called for a clean, modern aesthetic with tactile finishes, abundant natural light, flexible collaboration zones, and seamless integration of workplace technology.

LCI was engaged to support the delivery of the fitout, delivering full building services design to align spatial quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Our scope included:

• Mechanical Services – High-rise HVAC systems designed to support thermal comfort, zoning flexibility, and efficient operation.
• Electrical and ICT Services – Power distribution, lighting design, communications infrastructure, and digital security systems to enable hybrid work and future scalability.
• Hydraulic Services – Water supply and waste systems engineered for reliability and minimal disruption to existing building infrastructure.
• Fire Services – Fire protection and compliance strategies coordinated with base building protocols and statutory requirements.

Close collaboration with the architect, builder, and client team underpinned delivery. LCI proactively managed site constraints, services coordination, and integration with Central Plaza’s base infrastructure to maintain program efficiency and minimise onsite variations.

Sustainability and Technical Performance

The design prioritised lifecycle performance and operational sustainability, incorporating:

• Energy-efficient lighting and HVAC zoning to lower operational loads.
• Intelligent ICT and electrical layouts that allow for easy reconfiguration as workplace needs evolve.
• Water-efficient hydraulic fixtures supporting environmentally responsible building use.

These strategies align with broader performance targets such as NABERS and Green Star pathways.

The completed workplace now serves as ONA’s flagship Brisbane office, offering a comfortable and acoustically balanced environment that enhances staff wellbeing, supported by robust and resilient systems that ensure business continuity and digital security. The fitout reflects ONA’s identity and operational values throughout, and has been recognised for its design clarity, strong stakeholder coordination, and seamless delivery within a live commercial tower environment.
