Point Nepean Research & Education Field Station

The University of Melbourne, in partnership with Monash University, is developing the Point Nepean Research and Education Field Station, an interdisciplinary research and education facility located within a unique coastal and marine environment.

The Field Station will support teaching, research and community engagement across a range of disciplines, with a particular focus on coastal systems, climate change, history and culture.

The facility will support research that acknowledges and engages with the site’s deep Indigenous history alongside its settler heritage, while advancing innovative responses to climate change, species invasion, and habitat and ecological restoration.

LCI Consultants is engaged to provide Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, Fire Safety, AV/ICT, and Vertical Transport engineering services for the project.
