Challenge: 

The Cultural and Civic Space project includes a Regional Gallery, Central Library, Regional Museum, multipurpose meeting rooms, co-working spaces, shop, café, function space, customer services area, council staff accommodation, car parking and Council Chambers.

Solution: 

The Coffs Harbour City Council are providing this innovative project that will benefit the local community, along with a new fresh modern building. The building’s aim is to be iconic and inspirational, but also should be hospitable, welcoming and accommodating. And from a services perspective it needs to demonstrate flexibility, functionality and sustainability. Achieving high environmental performance will be paramount focusing on the Councils’ sustainability policy towards zero carbon and sustainable water buildings.

Outcome: 

The scope involved develoing the Schematic Design. The level of detail of this work included a fully referenced Schematic Design Report incorporating schematic plans, single line riser diagrams, and performance report, allowing Construction Managers to form Expressions of Interest under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) arrangement. LCI Consultants have been engaged for Mechanical, Electrical, Level 3, Fire Engineering, Communications, Security, Hydraulic, Wet & Dry Fire, ESD and Vertical Transport Services.
